Welcome to the official website for the 27th annual Northwest Linguistics Conference, scheduled for the 19th and 20th of February, 2011, at the University of Victoria.
Continuing the NWLC’s tradition of showcasing student research and providing a supportive forum for the development of ideas in all areas of linguistics, this year’s conference will incorporate poster presentations in addition to oral presentations. Presenters of both types will also have the opportunity to publish their research as proceedings papers, to be published in late April, 2011, as Vol. 21 of the Working Papers of the Linguistics Circle of the University of Victoria.
Abstracts are now being accepted by e-mail. Please see the NWLC 2011 Call for Papers for submission guidelines and instructions. If you have any questions about the conference, feel free to contact the NWLC 2011 committee.
See you in February!
The NWLC couldn’t happen without the generous support of UVic’s Corporate Relations, UVic’s English Language Centre, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives, and Graduate Students’ Society. Beyond UVic, we are grateful for the support of Languages Canada and their ongoing work towards quality assurance in language education.
